Hey guys, Mikkel here,
Most people think decisions are made at desks.
… and sometimes they are.
But regardless of where they are made, decisions are often made in the moment when that last piece of doubt dissipates…
…that moment when something shifts from abstract to easily understandable.
You can look at photos or study spreadsheets and convince yourself that you “understand” a place, project, or thing, but although important, none of that replaces what you can gain from your own hands-on experience.
This is one of the most important distinctions I’ve learned after years of doing the work I do at Expat Money: there is nothing that replaces getting on the ground, seeing things firsthand and shaking the hand of myself or a partner of mine before making a big decision.
That’s why I put so much emphasis on getting people to see and experience the opportunities and projects I tell them about.
The decisions that get made in my world (the decisions I help hundreds of families and investors make every single year) are not small decisions.
There is no sugar coating it - I help people make some of the biggest and most important decisions they will ever make.
…and that is not something I take lightly.
It’s why I rarely advise someone (unless they have endless amounts of liquid capital) to take an investment position (or secure residency) outside of their home country without them being dead certain that the path ahead is exactly suited to their current and future needs.
That’s exactly why I run tours and host in-person events overseas in some of the world’s most robust and resilient Plan-B jurisdictions.
When you walk alongside other serious people, when you hear the questions others are asking (questions you didn’t even realize mattered until you heard them asked), and when you meet the people behind a project and realize they’re not just avatars on a website, that’s when things really click for most people.
…and that’s especially true when it comes to off-grid communities like Veritas, which is still very much a revolutionary concept (and because there are almost no true comparables, most people only have their preconceived notions to measure it against).
Off-grid living is easy to misunderstand… and it often is.
To this day, it gets lumped into two basic buckets, and most often is either overly romanticized or completely dismissed as something reserved for the “carefree hippies keen to live off the land”.
But when you see things for yourself, you realize something important… the Veritas Version of off-grid living is not about disconnecting from the world or escaping from your problems…
…it’s about embracing life in a better way.
If you were planning to take a tour of Vertias, I’d recommend doing it alongside others who are thinking seriously about their own Plan-B.
When you’re standing on the land with a group of other like-minded people who “get it”, something subtle happens unconsciously…
…your internal bar for what’s “possible” moves.
You’ll stop asking, “is this realistic?” when you see people who could envision being your neighbours starting to make real moves with confidence.
I’ve watched this play out over and over again with families, investors, and business owners who’ve spent years researching offshore strategies, alternative living setups, and Plan-B options from afar.
They know the “terminology” and can explain some intermediate concepts as it pertains to creating a safety net for themselves and their loved ones, and yet, they’re still stuck at the starting line.
NOT because the opportunity isn’t good enough.
NOT because the numbers don’t work.
NOT because they don’t envision their family spending time in a certain place.
BUT because there’s a difference between knowing about something and knowing whether it actually fits into your life.
That difference often only becomes clear when you see it with your own eyes.
Sure, there are some people who read this newsletter and then go deeper by speaking with my friend Andrea at Veritas ([email protected]) to learn even more and end up securing a lot without setting foot on the land.
However, for the most part, nearly all of the families who have secured land (and are planning to build a completely self-reliant home in this completely self-sufficient community) visit Veritas before making any form of commitment.
If you’re solely relying on what you see in photos or what you can gather via Zoom conversations, every question, concern or thought you may have will multiply, and ultimately will leave you more confused than you were before.
HOWEVER, when you’re there, those questions get resolved naturally, often without you even needing to articulate them.
You don’t just ask questions… you overhear them.
You don’t just evaluate the project… you watch how others react to it.
You don’t just meet the people behind the project in a formal setting… you spend the day with them.
When you explore an off-grid project alongside other like-minded, freedom-oriented people who are actually willing to take action… you’re not just evaluating land or infrastructure.
You’re getting a preview of the community that will eventually exist there.
You see how people think.
You see how others talk about family, security, independence, and the future.
You see what they prioritize.
You see what they’re trying to move away from… and what they’re building toward.
More than any other way of life, going off-grid isn’t just about the “how”…
It’s about WHO.
That’s something that's easy to dismiss, but I assure you, it’s a mistake to overlook the importance of who your neighbours are and what they stand for.
This is exactly why the Wealth, Freedom & Passports Conference is your perfect convergence point for you if you’re interested in exploring Veritas AND doing it in a group setting alongside the very people who very well may be your neighbours one day.
The conference is the place where ideas and opportunities that usually exist in separate silos are brought into the same physical space, so you can connect the dots properly, on the spot, in one shot.
You hear how different pieces of a Plan-B actually work together.
You get exposed to strategies you may not have considered yet.
You meet the team, the partners, and the community that operates behind the scenes of everything we talk about throughout the year, both here at Off-Grid Plan-B and at Expat Money.
This conference allows you to step out of isolation and into a room full of people who share many of the same concerns as you, are weighing similar tradeoffs as you, and are thinking just as seriously as you are about how to protect what they’ve built.
The Wealth, Freedom & Passports Conference is an orientation point into our ecosystem - one that includes people, partners, jurisdictions, and opportunities that most people never encounter because they remain on the outside looking in.
For those who’ve already been circling this space for a while and have been waiting to take the savvy leap at the perfect time, this conference offers exactly that - it will sharpen your focus.
…and perhaps most importantly, it places you in a room full of people who are already in motion toward doing the very thing you’re considering…
You gain a benchmark for yourself and will begin to see where you are on the “readiness spectrum” and what the next logical step actually is for you.
This is why the conference is such a powerful entry point into the Expat Money community.
The Wealth Freedoms & Passports Conference is a two-day event in Panama City, Panama, from March 6th through the 7th.
The first day is all about strategy, networking and evaluating opportunities.
…and then it’s time to step outside...
The second day of the conference is intentionally designed to move people from the abstract to the physical.
On day two of the conference, you’ll have the choice of three optional tours.
…and one of those options is a visit to Veritas Panama.
If you choose that path, the experience begins the moment you get on the bus.
You’ll leave the city as a group and very quickly will understand something that no map can convey: how accessible this actually is, how close it is to the city and how nearby all the services you could ever need are.
For some, the Veritas visit will confirm that this is exactly the kind of lifestyle and community they’ve been searching for.
For others, it becomes a reference point - a new baseline for what’s possible when off-grid living is done thoughtfully, intentionally, and at a high standard.
…and for others, it may confirm that the Veritas community is not for them.
All of those outcomes are incredibly valuable.
The goal of the conference, and the tours that follow it, is not to force decisions.
…it’s to replace uncertainty with clarity and speculation with first-hand experience.
If you’ve been thinking about off-grid living, or even working toward building a Plan-B that extends beyond the financial side of things, The Wealth, Freedom & Passports Conference is one of the most effective ways for you to do so, EVEN IF you’re just starting to explore the idea of what life outside your home country could look like.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive (most people don’t).
What matters is that you give yourself the opportunity to see, experience and evaluate these ideas in the real world, alongside like-minded people who are seeking out similar things for themselves and their loved ones.
…and for those of you just learning about the conference for the first time, you can take this as your formal invitation to join me, my staff, my offshore partners and hundreds of members from the Expat Money community in Panama this coming March.
When you join us in Panama from March 6th through the 7th, you’ll have direct access to my global network of partners, experts and service providers who will help you fast-track your offshore plans.
…and they are coming to the conference with the sole purpose of turning your offshore dreams into realities in the most time and cost-effective manner possible…
From understanding residency programs and tax optimization to offshore investing and wealth preservation, every detail of this event is geared towards giving you the tools and access you need to take confident, informed action and make tangible progress toward your offshore goals.
The Wealth, Freedoms & Passports Conference is about much more than just the Plan-B business side of things…
…it’s about coming together as a community to build and strengthen friendships and partnerships that matter more to unconventional freedom-minded people like us…
You just can’t put a price on having people walking a similar path in your corner.
Simply put, there is no better time or place than Panama this March to connect with freedom-driven families, investors, expats and soon-to-be-expats who are all seeking a better, more secure, and more prosperous life for themselves and their families.
If you believe in taking control of your financial future and are adventurous enough to look beyond borders for those opportunities, this conference is where you need to be in March.
If you believe your assets, rights, and future are at risk in your home country, this conference is where you need to be in March.
If you understand that there is a whole world of possibilities and opportunities beyond your backyard and you’re curious about tapping into them, this conference is where you need to be in March.
Whether you’re ready to invest, physically relocate overseas, or build a complete Plan-B, the Wealth, Freedom & Passports Conference is your one-stop shop for making your offshore plans and turning them into realities.
Both general admission and VIP tickets to the conference are going to sell out well in advance of March. In fact, well over half of the 75 available VIP tickets have already been scooped up, and I fully expect them to be gone within the next week or two. After that, only general admission will remain.
If you want in, you can visit this page here right now to get all the details: ExpatMoney.com/Conference.
Last year, the Wealth, Freedom & Passports Conference was a massive success, and to this day, I keep hearing from so many people just like you about how helpful (and fun) it was to spend a couple of days together in Panama focusing on building out our Plan-Bs.
This year, I expect more of the same… and then some.
If you know anything about what my team and I do at Expat Money, you already know that we don’t downscale in anything we do.
This ethos applies to this year’s conference.
The 2nd annual Wealth, Freedom & Passports Conference is going to be bigger and better than the last, and if it wasn’t already, it will solidify itself as the best, most impactful and most effective offshore event in the world.
…come see for yourself.
Speak soon,
Mikkel
